I was wondering how the Careers and Employability Service can help me look for post graduate courses. I also wondered if we can get help applying for the courses that are specific to our faculties?
There are a few ways in which the Careers and Employability Service can assist you. Initially, I would advise visiting the Careers and Employability further study website page. This website is a pretty good starting point if you’re unsure of what you want to do after graduation. This site includes the full range of courses on offer at Manchester Met so would be a good place to start your search for postgraduate study options.
As you already know that you would like to stay in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, you should contact the Careers Consultant associated with biology (Marina) for more specific advice. You can book appointments with Marina by phoning 0161 247 3483 or visiting the Employability Hub, Business School.
You may also find it useful to attend some postgraduate fairs, which run throughout the year and will give you an idea of what courses are available to you. Many of these fairs offer you the chance to speak to an academic in each subject area. This can be very insightful and could give you the upper hand when applying for postgraduate courses. Don’t forget to check on our events page to see when the next fair is.
