The Civil Service affects all parts of daily life, from education, health, and transport to employment, media and local communities.
We help the government of the day to develop and implement its policies as effectively as possible. We span across the whole of the UK and provide a range of services direct to the public.
There are over 420,000 civil servants across a huge range of departments in an array of roles including those in: Policy, Communications, Digital, Project Management, Commercial, and Operational Delivery, to name just a few of the Civil Service professions.
The Fast Stream is a graduate programme that develops the future leaders of the Civil Service. The work is varied, interesting and intellectually-challenging.
On the Fast Stream we recognise the genuine value of diversity. The more diverse a Civil Service we have, the better equipped we will be to represent the needs of all people in the United Kingdom.
