Many employers in both the private and public sector use psychometric tests during the recruitment process. They are increasingly being used across all sectors so you may well face them when applying for graduate jobs and placements.

Tests are used to assess the abilities (including numerical and verbal) and personal characteristics of applicants. You may be asked to take a test at the very start of the application process or at an assessment centre and they are generally taken online.

Get some practice!

Through MMU Careers and Employability you can practise verbal, numerical, logical reasoning, situational judgement and personality tests online for free. These tests are very similar to the real thing so make sure you are prepared and know what to expect by taking advantage of this free service!

Practising psychometric tests will help you to identify your strengths and weaknesses so that you know which areas you need to develop. The practice tests you can take through MMU provide detailed, personalised feedback on your performance and how you might improve.

To take tests for free you simply need to register on the Graduates First website here.
