Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust is hosting a health visiting careers fair on Thursday 25 October at Golborne Parkside Sports & Community Club from 9am to 1pm.

With the Government’s commitment last year to create 4,200 new jobs nationally in the sector by 2015, the event aims to encourage more people into the health visiting profession. Approximately 50 of these jobs will be based with Bridgewater which covers the areas of Ashton, Leigh, Wigan, St Helens, Halton, Warrington and Trafford.

The event is open to anyone interested in working as a health visitor in Ashton, Leigh and Wigan including student or practising nurses, nursery nurses, school and college leavers, former or newly qualified health visitors as well as people thinking about a change of career.
There will be also be a variety of stalls where people attending can find out more about the work Bridgewater does to improve health and wellbeing in the community. They can speak on a one-to-one basis with health visitors and the parents they work with as well as discuss their career development options with the recruitment team and representatives from local universities.
