The London Library, in partnership with The Times and Milkround, are looking to discover the next generation of writers, thinkers and opinion formers.
The competition is an opportunity to expose your writing talent to a national audience. All final year undergraduates studying at higher education institutions across the UK are invited to submit an 800 word article, considering this year’s theme:
GAP YEARS: A NEW FORM OF COLONIALISM?
The winning entry will be published in The Times comment pages and The London Library Magazine.
1st Prize £5,000; 3 runners- up,  £1,000
The winner and runners-up will also have the opportunity to spend some time with journalists at The Times as part of a mini-internship.
The deadline for entries is Friday 11 January 2013.
