The i CYCLE project recycles reclaimed cycles which are then used on the University’s cycle hire fleet operated out of the Student Union.

Currently, they need volunteers to help a qualified CYTEX cycle mechanic recycle reclaimed cycles to enable them to be used in the I-cycle hire fleet. This will involve taking parts off cycles and replacing them with new parts. Volunteers are needed for at least 2 hours per week on a Tuesday any time between 12pm and 7pm.Training is provided by a qualified CYTEX cycle mechanic rleating to basic cycle maintenance skills.

The project also needs greater exposure to the public, staff and students particularly through the development and management of social media i.e. facebook and twitter. Working with the SU marketing team volunteers will help to develop and maintain facebook and twitter accounts for the iCYCLE project, as well as, develop other innovative marketing projects/initiatives.
