The Youth Federation works across Cheshire, Halton, Warrington and Wirral to help disadvantaged young people achieve their potential through direct delivery youth work, alternative education and working with the voluntary sector to the frontline of community youth work.
The Youth Federation is delivering the National Citizen Service ‘Summer of a Lifetime’ event in July and August 2012 across Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Wirral. The NCS summer programme consists of activities and challenges for 16 year olds that supports and develops their skills and attitudes to help them become more engaged with their communities and become active and responsible citizens. This will be the second year of the Government backed NCS programme and thousands of young people have already participated in the summer 2011 NCS pilot

Volunteers will be:

•Working alongside staff to deliver the National Citizen Service.
•Helping staff to engage young people in a comprehensive programme of personal development and community action.
•Helping with the delivery of one or more phases of the programme from induction through residential phases to
community action and celebration.
•Keep young people enthused on the programme.
•Undertake training and a CRB
•Supervise young people and ensure Health and Safety of young people.
